Wednesday, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Start Date: 09/17/25
Duration: six-week session
End Date: 10/22/25

Kids and teens learn how to sew progressively with easy-to-sew projects in a weekly class format.  Students receive a full-color workbook and pattern pack with 6 to 8 projects. The Level 1 workbook is designed for the first-time sewist. Students work at their own pace, practicing foundational sewing skills with the degree of difficulty increasing with each level. Students typically complete a project every 4-weeks, which includes clothing for themselves and craft projects.

The program's new students start with the Level 1 Kids or Teen workbook. Fabric and notions will be provided for the first two projects. Students are required to purchase their own fabric and notions for the remaining projects. After completing the Level 1 book, students continue through the program with workbooks 1.5, 2, and 3. Workbooks are available for purchase at the time of registration for each level.

Once all the workbooks have been completed, students are introduced to store-bought patterns to continue building their sewing skills with more complex projects. Students can start at the beginning of any session with the option to stop anytime. Sewing machines, equipment, and tools are provided for in-class use.

Students learn. . .

  • how to operate a sewing machine and use workroom equipment
  • how to read and understand sewing instructions
  • how to make pattern alterations
  • how to work with different fabrics
  • how to insert zippers and more!
