Looking for a creative after-school activity that inspires, builds confidence, and teaches a lifelong skill? Our Afterschool Sewing Program is the perfect place for kids as young as 8 years old to explore sewing in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether your child is brand new to sewing or already has some experience, we’ll place them in the right level so they can grow at their own pace. Our program has four progressive stages, so every student—beginner to advanced—can keep building on their skills session after session.

Our Curriculum

Students start with fun, hands-on projects, including garment making, bag sewing, patchwork, embroidery, and appliqué. Each 6-week session includes two completed projects: one accessory or décor piece, and one wearable garment they can proudly take home.

How Classes Work

We keep classes small, with no more than four students per instructor, so your child gets plenty of attention. While younger and older students attend after-school sessions at the same time in our studio, they work on separate projects, so lessons are age-appropriate. 

• All materials for each project are included; however, students may choose to purchase their own fabric. A supply list will be provided.

Calendar & Special Events

• The regular school calendar runs from September to June with rolling 6-week sessions, allowing you to join at any time throughout the year. Want to keep your child’s spot? Sign up for Auto-Pay to ensure continuous enrollment.

• Students have the opportunity to model their creations in our annual Student Appreciation Fashion Show 

• Students can also “give back” to the community by using their sewing skills to make projects for charitable organizations

• Special workshops and camps are offered during the summer months

Pricing / Material

Our monthly tuition is calculated based on eight months, rather than the number of weeks within a month, to ensure a consistent and fair monthly cost. The tuition is prorated to account for holidays, and an annual registration fee of $20 is due at the time of registration.

Fabric and supplies are provided when using Making It SewFun's project patterns. More advanced students using commercial sewing patterns will need to purchase their fabric and supplies. A note with project requirements will be sent home in advance.

Cancellation Policy

If you email us at least seven days before your session starts, you’ll receive a full refund if we can fill the spot from our waitlist—or a store credit (valid for 8 months) if we can’t. We’re not able to offer credits or refunds with less than a week’s notice.
